The Event Management Association of Kerala (EMAK) established on 2011, currently it having 300+ Members from – Event Planning, Event Production, Décor & Venue Styling, Hospitality, Artist Management and Various Other Sectors. In Kerala itself, 1 Lakh + Employees and their Families are completely depending on the Event Management income.
Due to the Pandemic COVID-19, WHO suggested to completely avoiding Mass gatherings for avoid the spread of Virus. The Industries depending on completely Mass Gatherings – Especially Event Management Companies has been strongly affected by the disruptive effects of COVID-19.

Event Management Association Representative: On Every Year, Kerala Tourism Department organizing Road Shows and Promotion Events across Our Country and abroad to the promote Kerala Tourism. Event Management Companies are Closely Related with Tourism and Hospitality Industry. In such a case, Can you include Event Management Companies in Kerala in Such Events?
Shri. Kadakampally Surendran: Surely. Our Government will do the best to Boost-Up the Companies. If such Collaboration with tourism department is beneficial for event planning business, we will surely consider that in upcoming meet-up. Around 15 Lakh people are working in Tourism Including Events Sector. Govt. of Kerala is planning to start a Welfare Fund Board for workers in the tourism section.
Event Management Association Representative: While Taking Promo Ads for Kerala Tourism, is it possible to include Event Management Companies? If yes, it would be helpful for boosting MICE Tourism and Destination Weddings.
Shri. Kadakampally Surendran: We will Consider That. The Problem is – till now we haven’t received such proposal s from event companies or its apex bodies. We will definitely consider this in nearby future.

Shri. Kadakampally Surendran: Our Website and all Our Social Media Channels are following by Numerous Travel Lovers across the world. Your Suggestion is acceptable. We will Check and Consider that soon.
Event Management Association Representative: Since we have No community spread, when we can restart the Events?
Shri. Kadakampally Surendran: Govt. taken strict Actions and master plan to avoid the mass gatherings and that is why we haven’t had community spread till now. We understand your Emotions and soon we will give permission to restart the events including all other activities after discussion epidemiologists including health officials.
Hotel Representative: As of Now, the Liquor Serving and Loud Music Playing time in Hotels is Limited 11.00 PM. Since, Destination Weddings are Conducting after 6 PM, We have a request to Increase the Timing of the same.
Shri. Kadakampally Surendran: We will Consider Your Suggestion and Take Necessary methods to Implement that.
